“Excellent starters but the main courses were not special nor innovative. For the price per person, one would expect a lot more than duck breast with broccolini or a tofu bao. The beef stripe wasn’t tender and desserts also disappointing. I was at a company event and enjoyed the experience but would have been very disappointed to pay for this dinner myself. Friendly service but absolutely not professional to a 1* level. It’s a good casual dining but not a unique experience.”

“AMAZING! We ordered Crispy Cubes, Small but Mighty, Curry and the Happy Monk. It was fabulous! Amazing experience: the place is amazing, the food is one of the best I’ve ever had, super (SUPER) fast. Also the red lemonade (that I forgot the name) was INSANELY delicious. The only con is that it’s not super international-friendly. They do have English menus, you might have to ask for. Also to pay it was a bit hard because of the language. But overall it’s amazing.”

“If you’re looking for a breakfast place especially at the weekend, Strandbad Mitte is a good choice. Their Egg Benedict is pretty good. The cheese plate is gigantic, you can definitely have that for 2 people. They also serve a large basket of fresh bread. Prices are around 12-15 Euros for all dishes but they do have Broccoli soup for 6,50. Worth trying!”

“My experience at Barra was overall alright. I’m a bit disappointed, but there are definitely positive and negative aspects about my dining there. I would like to start with the positive things. The staff was kind, friendly, and definitely trained and professional. Some dishes were very tasty, with interesting combinations of flavors. The ambience was pleasant, and the wines I had were very good. Now, for the negatives: it was overpriced, with Michelin prices that didn’t match the quality of the food and the vibe. While we were still eating, the kitchen staff was cleaning in front of us—brushing the floor, stepping on the kitchen counter, cleaning the walls, and shelves. This felt extremely inappropriate and didn’t make me feel comfortable at all. Despite booking in advance, my partner and I were seated at the bar, and the stools were very uncomfortable and not intimate at all. They didn’t change the plates, which is sometimes necessary, especially when eating different dishes to avoid mixing flavors. This is something I would expect from a low-standard restaurant, not from such an expensive place that aims to provide a fine dining experience. The dessert was a bit off and not well done, with a mix of ingredients that didn’t match in flavors. For me, it was a failed experiment. I’m not sure if I will go back, but I’m happy I went there and gave it a try. :)”

“Nice restaurant serving four course menus only. Still there is some choice for each course. Food was really good, except of the boring dessert. Aperitif and wine was good too, espresso at best mediocre. Service was ok considering it was really crowded. All in all a good location for a relaxed dinner with a little bit of an upscale vibe. We particularly liked the offer of classic dishes with good quality ingredients. Wine menu was also nice. Prices are fair.”

“I was amazed that i was abled to get a table, since i reserved very short notice. Arriving at the restaurant i received a warm welcome from my extremly friendly waiter. As entrèe i was going with the gardeners tartar, which was precisely my kind of taste. Nothing overly extravagant, but with a little twist. In this case a little crunch delivered by mashed nuts. For the main course i had "Spinatknödel" and what can i say? I am a simple man, give me spinach and a good bergkäse and i will be happy. Overall a very nice experience and i would not mind to revisit the Gärtnerei. My solely complaint would be, that the furniture was clearly style > functionality. My table was rather loose and uneven, which is very impractible during a diner ;).”

“Absolutely recommended. We came in and received excellent service with a lot of patience. We're vegetarians and had no idea that they actually added Planted Chicken to their menu, allowing us to order also salads and bowls that are not strictly defined as vegan or vegetarian. We took their wraps and their 'chicken' bowls and enjoyed every moment. Everything was fresh, tasty, everyone there was kind and patient.”
