“This place is a diamond in the rough. The location and exterior is modest and gives the illusion of the place being just another restaurant in a strip type mall. Well, the interior, staff, food and experience is anything but typical. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome right away. They were busy when we arrived but our waiter was good at keeping tabs on us. He was also very friendly and personable, which can make or break a place for us. The food choices are good. It’s not a place that has a million different things but what they have is excellent. The two dishes we picked were better than we expected. The flavors were there and the ingredients were clearly fresh with some possibly coming from their own outside raised garden. The price is a little on the higher side, but it’s worth it as we took some left overs home and had a second meal. They have a sister restaurant just down the road which is more of a country food place but looks just as delicious. It will be on our radar for sure. The place is definitely full of locals, who clearly know of this place. Definitely worth checking out.”

“Anyone who grew up in this area knows the Jackson County Fair is a summer staple that we all look forward to. The fairground has since undergone some major renovations and layout changes. While it does look nice, it takes away from a bit of that nostalgic feeling. We'll get used to it eventually, and younger generations won't know the difference so that's really a non-issue. The exhibit hall, animal buildings and grandstand are currently still the same, though. It's a good mix of new and old. My parents have been entering vegetables, sewing and baking to be judged for at least 60+ years. If you ever get a chance to pass through the exhibit hall, you'll notice many vegetables on plates with blue ribbons on them that were grown by Leon. My mother passed away in December of 2021, but I still put a photo of her proudly posing with some of her first place pieces in the sewing exhibit. As you can tell, this event will always hold a special place in my heart. PS, Fiske Fries are a must!”

Then we walked down E Michigan Ave, which was decorated with flowers, until we came to the memorials related to the events of September 11. I took some pictures. I recommend visiting this wonderful place.”

“The Franklin Hills Country Club is a great place to hold an event. The staff was very diligent and kind. The setup for the event was quick and professional. The entire club is absolutely beautiful and authentic. Nothing in the building feels overlooked or low-quality. I didn’t go golfing, so I can’t speak to the quality of the course, but if it’s anything like the clubhouse it’s perfect. The grounds are immaculate and well maintained. There was a gardener constantly going around and perfecting each rosebush at all times. Great bathrooms and amenities. The wifi had slow upload speeds (5mbps) but fast download speeds (45mbps) The locker rooms are so huge I go lost in them. The seatery throughout is awesome. Any kind of chair you prefer to sit in- you name it. I spent all day going from chair to sofa to recliner to bench, and they’re all delectable.”
