“I hesitated on writing this review but I urge against bringing your reptile here. I am a medical student. Here are the reasons: 1) Vet tech miscalculated my chameleon's weight to be 10 times heavier than he is, and thus gave ceftazidime in 10 times higher dose than indicated for him, which I gave for a month. I found this out the next time he needed this med and the dosage was different. This antibiotic is nephrotoxic. No one brought this up until I asked and no one apologized. 2) 2 months later, his renal insufficiency became evident as he developed various symptoms. They recommended culturing the abscess which I did. When I called for the result a week later, the tech said it's negative, and she said it means either it was aseptic or the truck was too hot and killed all organisms... I believe the vet facility holds the responsibility to ensure an adequate transportation system. 3) Recently, I dropped off Millie just to get stitches out that was done in ER and later received a voicemail (without a call) recommending euthanasia because it would be "unfair of us to keep pushing him". I did not expect this let alone hear it over voicemail and walked out of my lectures in tears. Both when I called back and when I went to pick him up, they repeatedly asked if I was sure of not euthanizing. The night before, Millie ate a handful of crickets and walked around outside which he loves to do. Did not appear to be in pain or distress. -I've spent over $1000 here for many of the tests they recommended, but received no diagnosis. -The picture attached is Millie today. He has been recovering well and has been enjoying the outdoors and hanging with my bearded dragon. Enjoying his life. -I've had Millie for 4 years and he traveled across the country with me. He is my first pet. He may be small but is a part of my family, and I am upset and disappointed by the way he was treated.”
