“My dog had what looked like a snake bite on his leg. I called Butterfied Animal Hospital and was told to bring him right in and they would see him. When we got there my dog was seen within 15 minutes. The doctor took her time and explained everything to me. She offered me three options and was very conscious of cost. She did NOT push the expensive route and didn't make me feel like I was a bad person regardless of my choice. After making my choice my dog went under a surgery within the hour. During the surgery things were worse than what we had originally had thought and planned for. The doctor did everything she could to resolve the issue and kept my dogs best interest at heart. And the best part is he is doing much better! Additionally she didn't charge me a dime more than originally quoted even though the surgery needed more work than previously planned. I'm thankful for Butterfield Animal hospital for keeping my dog safe! He's doing much better!!!”

“Today 12-29-2023 took my cat to Provet Dr Dirk Butchko office on Van Buren Ave. Terrible experience. Called the day before to let them know my cat has a cyst that needs to be drained or removed. They told me to have him fast since night before because they'll need to put him under anesthesia. I said ok. We Arrived at 8am and put our name on the list which is protocol there- first come first serve. I've been here before so I knew the drill. Gloria at reception desk was nice and I waited to be seen. Once in examination room with Kandra the assistant- notified me they had no available time today to do the procedure and I'd have to come back in a week or so. What an inconvenience! why didn't they tell me that yesterday when I called?? I noticed poop in the corner and said "what is that?" She joked it off and didn't even clean it up! She left the room to write up an estimate of the procedure for my cat's cyst that needed to be drained and while she was out of the room I noticed a puddle of urine on the other side of exam table on floor. When another assistant popped her head in- I said- this room is disgusting! there's a pile of poop in one corner and a puddle of pee by the chair I was sitting in. she said she'd have someone come and clean it right away. Did they?? No. The first assistant Kandra, came back with a terrible estimate charging me for teeth cleaning! Because she said since my cat is over 10 they have to clean his teeth. I said he might be 8 or 9 but I'm not sure because he was my son's cat. She says- if they are over 6 yrs they need their teeth clean. She showed me the bill for blood work, anesthesia, medications, other tests, teeth cleaning then the draining of the cyst- a long list over $1000! I said NoWay! I'll pay $500 but not $1000. I'm so disappointed and will Never come back! Very unprofessional and a rip off!”
