“Great experience staying at this resort hotel. Rooms are good. Clean, well-maintained and big bathroom. My only criticism is that a west-facing room with have difficulty staying cool (by American standards) during the day and will struggle to adjust at night. I understand that’s a personal preference, but it did mildly affect our stay. Service was great at the front desk and there were very helpful people assisting with taxis and deliveries. My only criticism here is that there was really no pool-side service and also the lunch service was fairly slow. Neither of these things affected our stay too much, but it’s something we noticed for a hotel this expensive. The location is good but some things to know…it takes between 30-60 minutes (depending on time of day) to get just about anywhere touristy you might want to go. However, many of the resorts in this price bracket are further from the tourist “hustle” so that seems a common issue. So just plan your days accordingly and it’s not a big deal. There is not much walkable in the area surrounding the hotel although there are two very tasty restaurants within a 5 minute car ride. Overall, the resort itself including fitness center, spa, and restaurants is fabulous and luxurious. It’s also quite a unique kind of property and architecture. We really enjoyed our stay!”

“We recently had an absolutely magical five-night stay here, largely because of two things: the service and the setting. Every staff person you will meet is so kind, gracious, friendly, eager to help and, importantly, very good at their jobs! We had a fantastic concierge (Jack) that seemed to anticipate our every need and assisted us like we were his only guests! The breakfast staff was also memorably excellent, but whether at Zest or Azure for dinner or getting a kayak at the beach, everyone we interacted was really superb! Next the views - in a word, breathtaking. You will look, turn away, and seconds later, again marvel at the beauty! Of course, it helps you will have your own cliffside villa with decently sized pool (not a bathtub "plunge" pool). Have sunset drinks at the bar across from Zest. The gym is really good, if that's your thing. And, as good as the massage treatments are, the dry sauna and showers in the spa are an experience unto themselves.”

We paid to upgrade to a pool access room and I’m very glad we did as it made using the pool a lot easier. When our flight got delayed, the reception team worked hard to arrange a later check out for us despite being fully booked. They could have just said no and kicked us out onto the street. I am so incredibly thankful they were willing to help.”

“At first glance this place is absolutely stunning, after a ten days you start to see a couple flaws. Staff and service 10/10, the view 10/10 - we got the two bedroom villa. The breakfast is a 3/10 at best and the sands restaurant 5/10, with saffron for 7/10. They need to hire a full time host at breakfast with two guys on the juice and coffee station with the influx of guests bombarding the restaurant. I think they are about a decade behind on plating. The sad little omelettes come with a ketchup squiggle and a carrot every morning. I would recommend eating just outside the hotel. The food is literally one tenth of the price and much much better. Again, staff and view/villas are great. Owner needs to put some attention to detail and do a full food overhaul.”

“Unfortunately Aleenta is overpriced and not good enough for what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, so I'm not sure where all the great reviews are. If you are someone who is used to staying at international 5 star hotels then you will be utterly disappointed by Aleenta 'Phuket' (not in Phuket). Appearance and Design is a 1 star: The layout of the hotel is poor and there are so many design flaws that make getting around so frustrating. The whole hotel decor feels so tired and old, there is nothing charming or nice about it. If you are staying in a grand deluxe pool villa, then it is across the main road from the restaurant and beach. If you book a beach pool villa, you have zero privacy as people can look in. I stayed in the grand deluxe pool villa and it was small compared to similar priced hotels I stayed in real Phuket. There is no door to the bathroom, but unnecessarily a door to the small walk in wardrobe. There are so many mosquitos by the pool, even with the mosquito coils and sprays you can’t sit outside. There is no bath, and the shower temperature can’t be changed. They don’t clean the pool for you during the stay nor do they clean the floors. Because there’s no water bucket or outside shower, it is really easy to get sand everywhere. Food is a 2 star: I stayed for 3 nights, and on day 1 and 3 where I only ate at the hotel where the food was not good, I also had mild food poisoning. Their plant based restaurant is so overpriced, no wonder it is always empty! Our meal was below average, and we wanted to have a nice special meal so tried it despite not being plant based, it feels like they know they can be more successful if they offer a meat based menu but just dont want to. Other facilities is a 1 star: The boat trip I booked was horrible and overpriced - read the small print! The staff, although they were all nice, were also a bit clueless and struggled: the edge restaurant got our order wrong several times, there’s never any towels by the beach, no one cleans or collects things by the beach, and the activities on the beach look like a health and safety hazard so no one uses it. Overall, my biggest regret of 3 weeks in Southeast Asia was booking to stay here because the price and experience is not matched. I stayed 4 nights at a hotel in actual Phuket for a similar price - it didn't have direct beach access, but everything else about it was so much superior. Please consider carefully before booking!”

“In general, a beautiful hotel/resort. We've stayed in the Boat House, which was spacious and well decorated. One of the most adventures hotel rooms I've stayed so far. Unfortunately, there were some minor flaws like (1) the smell in the toilet next to the bathroom, coming from the A/C,l made using this toilet unbearable. (2) The plug-in and the night stand for the person sleeping next to the entrance are missing. (3) Some of the pillows on the outside have already started moulding. The overall environment in the resort was beautiful and was spreading vacation vibes. A lot of trees and plants were well taken care of. The pool, which was connecting all the rooms, is amazing to swim in. The beach was clean and there is enough space for all guests. The food and drinks in the restaurant are quite overpriced for what you get. For example, a coconut was more than 200 baht. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of Western food like bread, sausage, cereals. They are also offering Boat noodles. Unfortunately not in the traditional taste but rather in a very mild taste compared to what you get at local places. Unfortunately, the breakfast selection doesn't change throughout the days, so you might get boring of the selection if you stay too long. The staff is extremely friendly and supportive, having always a smile on the face.”

“This hotel is beautiful in terms of architecture which is good for people who like to take photos. However, if you tend to enjoy variety of breakfast, this hotel is not for you. Their breakfast section was so limited with basic choice such as eggs menus and cereals which based on how much you paid for a room, the breakfast should be better. Also, if you get a spa, Nena was a good masseur who utilized a good amount of pressure to spots that you needed her to work on. If you want couples time, Pee Id at kids club is kind and sweet to watch your little one for you while you enjoy a quality time without worries.”

“This is a really nice and comfortable boutique resort. The compound is not huge, but it has style and quiet. A nice lawn in the centre, with a swimming pool and a heart shape tree. The beach is pretty small though, with only rocks during high tide. The room are nice, big and comfortable. With a nice bathroom with a beautiful bathtub, and also a comfortable balcony with lounger. And yes, the mini is well stocked and free (no alcoholic drink). The breakfast is pretty enjoyable as well. This is one of the most comfortable stay during our Thailand trip.”

“Location 5/5 Absolutely beautiful resort on one of the most gorgeous beaches I've ever seen. Very secluded, quiet and private. Room 4/5 Stayed in ocean front suite #345. It was very spacious with a large private patio and an amazing view. My only criticism is the bed was very firm (which was solved by adding a topper from the sleep menu) and the pillows were very soft and flat. I tried the other pillow options and in the 3rd night finally found something that worked. Maybe it's just me but I found the initial setup very uncomfortable, which is odd since I've not had this issue in other nice hotels. Food 4/5 The breakfast buffet was very good with a big variety of choices. We tried all the other restaurants and the food and service were very good. And the food manager Poo was lovely. My only callout is that the drinks were a bit weak (I doubt there was a full shot). Service 5/5 Excellent service, very attentive and helpful. The management goes out of their way to ensure everything is perfect. We couldn't have asked for more.”

“The view is one never to be missed! We got the ones above the river. The sunrise view is amazing. While we can't see the sunset, the beautiful sky made up for it. There's the occasional speedboat that rock the room depending on the size of the waves, so that's one thing to get used to. I fond it interesting though. The food options can take some improvements, but I would say they're acceptable. Overall highly recommend just based on the room alone.”

This boutique hotel is stunning, set in a great location, offers regular shuttles to popular areas and most importantly, the staff are AMAZING. The General Manager (i forgot her name) and Kaew in the restaurant were particularly brilliant and sourced me some coffee beans because I liked the coffee in the restaurant so much. The food in the restaurant was also great and catered for vegetarian food (even if it was off menu or at breakfast). I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Rocky's team!”

“Just finished a wonderful four night stay at this superb hotel! Our first time visiting Koh Samui and I am so happy we chose to stay at the Kimpton. The facade of the hotel is gorgeous, dark wood with the most beautiful landscaped garden i have seen in a hotel! The room was very big and clean with a huge balcony with a very comfy sofa. I love how the pool looks like it flows into the ocean, and the pool area is incredible with pool table, table tennis and lots of lounge chairs. Shout out to Naomi who was very helpful and friendly when we checked in and throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious, only suggestion would be to include Vegemite for the Australian’s with the different spreads for toast as I asked but they didn’t have. Also free bottled water by the pool would be great. Every night for turndown service they gave us a note and different treats which was a very sweet touch. We ate at Fish House a few times and enjoyed it however one night we had dinner there and it took 45 minutes for our drinks (two cocktails) to arrive, 1 hr for entree and then another 45 min wait for our mains.
