“A truly memorable experience! The setting and ambience of the room had a truly royal atmosphere, and apparently is, in fact, a former residence of a King's wife from 3-400 years ago. Gold Leaf and plaster abound. The food is exquisite and inventive as well as fabulous. Each dish was potent in flavor and well-executed and thought out with sublime intention. We did the 3 course, but i feel as if we may have had 10 courses or more including all the extras in-between and after. The service was just as good, if not better. Not stuffy or pretentious, but quite hilarious and genuine, our Waiter and the Sommelier were just as much a part of the experience for me and my friends as the food. I never write reviews, but this was truly deserving!It was not an inexpensive meal, but was one of the few that was truly worth every penny. I would give more stars if i could! “We stayed at this hotel for a week and I think it was one of the best holiday stays I've ever had. The hotel itself is very nice and the courtyard gives it a communal atmosphere - I think summer here would be very nice. The hotel provides a swimming pool with spa and hammam, and the bar is very comfortable, with incredibly nice and attentive staff. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacous and felt like it was recently renovated. The position of the hotel is very close to the beach as well as some great restaurants and patisseries. Over all I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel Des Bains as one of the best stays in La Rochelle!”

“The rooms are pretty old and badly maintained. The room where I stayed had a water drainage issue in the shower. The mirror was broken and the shower door didn’t close. The breakfast room also has hygiene issues. Dogs and cats allowed in the serving area and also the kitchen, breakfast items are uncovered. We were served a old baguette for days which was so hard to cut and eat. The road leading to the hotel is also very scary - especially at night. Dogs and cats peed and pooped in the property and nobody cared about it. Wifi is only available in public places. In the room, there’s no wifi.”

One of us had a dental emergency during our stay and they helped us to find a dentist and even offered to explain The issue to The dentist in french over The phone<3. This is how friendly and welcoming they are. Before leaving from there they showed us The place where they make The wine and explained more about The process of making their wine. This place is a treasure! Also their wine is good! And they have english speaking staff.”

“We had the pleasure of photographing a gorgeous elegant wedding in Villa Belrose last June. The Villa is intimate, quite and give a spectacular view of the Azure Coast and Saint-Tropez. The grounds of the hotel were impeccably maintained, providing endless photo opportunities for the couple and their guests. The indoor spaces were equally impressive, with elegant decor and plenty of natural light streaming in through large windows. One of the standout features of this hotel/wedding venue was the exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that the couple and their guests were well taken care of throughout the day. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly made a difference in capturing the magic of the wedding day. The ceremony took place in the garden of the Villa with the view of Azure Coast. The reception was help in their inner ballroom which was very romantic and intimate! We would absolutely recommend Villa Belrose to any couple look for a picturesque setting to say “I do”.
