“Unfortunately Aleenta is overpriced and not good enough for what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel, so I'm not sure where all the great reviews are. If you are someone who is used to staying at international 5 star hotels then you will be utterly disappointed by Aleenta 'Phuket' (not in Phuket). Appearance and Design is a 1 star: The layout of the hotel is poor and there are so many design flaws that make getting around so frustrating. The whole hotel decor feels so tired and old, there is nothing charming or nice about it. If you are staying in a grand deluxe pool villa, then it is across the main road from the restaurant and beach. If you book a beach pool villa, you have zero privacy as people can look in. I stayed in the grand deluxe pool villa and it was small compared to similar priced hotels I stayed in real Phuket. There is no door to the bathroom, but unnecessarily a door to the small walk in wardrobe. There are so many mosquitos by the pool, even with the mosquito coils and sprays you can’t sit outside. There is no bath, and the shower temperature can’t be changed. They don’t clean the pool for you during the stay nor do they clean the floors. Because there’s no water bucket or outside shower, it is really easy to get sand everywhere. Food is a 2 star: I stayed for 3 nights, and on day 1 and 3 where I only ate at the hotel where the food was not good, I also had mild food poisoning. Their plant based restaurant is so overpriced, no wonder it is always empty! Our meal was below average, and we wanted to have a nice special meal so tried it despite not being plant based, it feels like they know they can be more successful if they offer a meat based menu but just dont want to. Other facilities is a 1 star: The boat trip I booked was horrible and overpriced - read the small print! The staff, although they were all nice, were also a bit clueless and struggled: the edge restaurant got our order wrong several times, there’s never any towels by the beach, no one cleans or collects things by the beach, and the activities on the beach look like a health and safety hazard so no one uses it. Overall, my biggest regret of 3 weeks in Southeast Asia was booking to stay here because the price and experience is not matched. I stayed 4 nights at a hotel in actual Phuket for a similar price - it didn't have direct beach access, but everything else about it was so much superior. Please consider carefully before booking!”

“Beautiful place, beautiful people and an amazing pool area. Bungalows are super nice and spacious, you must know though that you're in the forest and there are insects around (on the outside terrace, not inside) and the floor of the outdoor shower is covered with whatever falls from the trees above (its been cleaned every day, but). I loved my stay there and hope to be back soon”

“The perfect hotel, a place that is heaven at a fair price compared to the other places around. We took a room with access to the pool, the place has a gym with everything you need and a spa that is just amazing. Good breakfast, excellent restaurants (a bit expensive but worth the price). The hotel has an adjacent beach where there are also excellent restaurants. The service at the hotel is excellent and always with a smile, the employees were attentive to all our requests and don't miss the Thai buffet on Friday evenings. Words just cannot describe this perfect place. We didn't want to leave and if we could we would have stayed longer. Don't miss the shuttles from the hotel to the local market, a local experience worth going to experience (happens 3 times a week). The place is suitable for everyone: for a person looking for a place of peace, for a couple looking for a romantic vacation and for a family looking for a fun vacation for children as well (the place has a children's area and a dedicated pool adjacent to the main pool).”

“Just finished spending a week here and all I can say is I wish we had booked for longer. It’s absolutely beautiful a true paradise oasis. Lovely pool and no mad scramble to get a sunbed. Staff very helpful and rooms changed daily. The only thing I would add is I think breakfast could do with improving but nothing too bad. We have booked to come back next year :-)”

“Spent there for three days. It was one of the best trip and hospitality in this year of me. This resort provided everything a person needs. It is like a perfect ecosystem. The best thing that i realized is Staffs and service. Everyone was extraordinarily nice to me. Especially for a lady stationed at the breakfast canteen named "Bee". Even though it was a busy morning with tons of guests having a breakfast, she still took a good care of me beyond expectation and my requests.”

“I was at a party there. The location is amazing. The staff are super friendly, helpful and courteous. I had a wonderful evening/night. The villas are very beautiful decorated, everything fits together perfectly. The prices are quite high, European prices. A beer 220 bath. Nevertheless, I would go there again at any time.”

“This is a fantastic place to stay if you wish for exclusivity and quiet remoteness. The treehouses are just fantastic. Everything you could wish for is available. The staff are utterly delightful. Earlier reviewers have commented on the perceived lack of privacy. Yes you can see people walking up and down their stairs and yes you can see people sitting in their plunge pool area but that is at some considerable distance and if you stare!! There are hornbills aplenty here plus resident monitor lizards. We just love it here.”
