“Nice location very close to Taormina, shuttle provided. The hotel is colonial-like with a very nice garden, nice pool and most importantly very clean, no smells. The rooms are big enough, clean, and have a nice view from our balcony just to forget about the railway that stands between the hotel and the beach, but not intrusive at all. The bathrooms are very clean and big, nothing to complain about. The only drawbacks are breakfast - the same every day, but not bad, and the events they organize due to break off the silence that usually is.... a very good experience that I recommend. PS the sea is very clean with a beautiful azzurro color, just the beach is not with the best sand (read pebbles...), but clean and sunbeds provided”

“My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. Beautiful grounds, the huge pool is clean, well maintained & surrounded by mountains. The restaurant is delicious w/ great local wine, pasta dishes and a full menu. The rooms are are good size and comfortable. But, the highlight here is the family that runs it. Wow, what wonderful, happy people. Marcello (who us always whistling a happy tune) greeted us warmly and took us in w/ no reservation. His wife Sandra is sweet and kind. His brother Giovanni was doing maintenance work and popped in for conversation. The mother Maria is incredible, cleaning and making us an espresso at any moment. We met their kids and Marcello’a father. It really made it feel like home. Stay here, this is a top choice without question.”

“We loved our stay at the Villa Giulia! This is a beautiful location, run by wonderful people. They grow and prepare their own food on site, from the farm to their stunning restaurant and courtyard. This is really special and all of our meals here were flavourful, delicious, healthy - just fantastic. The pool area is perfect for relaxing and swimming. Our room was wonderful - we slept really well in the very comfortable bed, and we appreciated the powerful shower and all the amazing soaps and products! “We arrived late in the evening, checked in and had dinner. The Restaurant is great, staff there were nice. The rooms were old (think “fashionable in the summer of ‘65”) but clean and with a working air conditioning. The beds were comfortable. You can hear the next door neighbours, but fortunately they were not too loud. The shower doors required some tough love to close, shampoo was available in stingily low volumes, given to you in plastic satchels. Waking up and going to the breakfast was a whole experience. You walk down a staircase, descending into thick indoor cigarette smoke (again, probably once fashionable in the summer of ‘65). The lacklustre breakfast buffet spanned some sloppy bacon, half-empty water bottles with plastic cups that remind of urine sampling. The waiter makes you feel that any request (“1 espresso”) is one too many. Upon returning to my table with some fruit that was left over, I was greeted by a little worm who had gotten to my apricot before me. I stuck to bread. Breakfast is from 8-10, which they tell you. What they don’t is that they stop re-filling food from 9:15 onwards. Instead, they will start blasting music in the adjacent pool area. The hotel will prove an okay place to stay for one night if needed. People looking for a Sicilian holiday stay should look elsewhere, though.”
