Every staff person you will meet is so kind, gracious, friendly, eager to help and, importantly, very good at their jobs! We had a fantastic concierge (Jack) that seemed to anticipate our every need and assisted us like we were his only guests! The breakfast staff was also memorably excellent, but whether at Zest or Azure for dinner or getting a kayak at the beach, everyone we interacted was really superb! Next the views - in a word, breathtaking. You will look, turn away, and seconds later, again marvel at the beauty! Of course, it helps you will have your own cliffside villa with decently sized pool (not a bathtub "plunge" pool). Have sunset drinks at the bar across from Zest. The gym is really good, if that's your thing. And, as good as the massage treatments are, the dry sauna and showers in the spa are an experience unto themselves.”

“At first glance this place is absolutely stunning, after a ten days you start to see a couple flaws. Staff and service 10/10, the view 10/10 - we got the two bedroom villa. The breakfast is a 3/10 at best and the sands restaurant 5/10, with saffron for 7/10. They need to hire a full time host at breakfast with two guys on the juice and coffee station with the influx of guests bombarding the restaurant. I think they are about a decade behind on plating. The sad little omelettes come with a ketchup squiggle and a carrot every morning. I would recommend eating just outside the hotel. The food is literally one tenth of the price and much much better. Again, staff and view/villas are great. Owner needs to put some attention to detail and do a full food overhaul.”

“In general, a beautiful hotel/resort. We've stayed in the Boat House, which was spacious and well decorated. One of the most adventures hotel rooms I've stayed so far. Unfortunately, there were some minor flaws like (1) the smell in the toilet next to the bathroom, coming from the A/C,l made using this toilet unbearable. (2) The plug-in and the night stand for the person sleeping next to the entrance are missing. (3) Some of the pillows on the outside have already started moulding. The overall environment in the resort was beautiful and was spreading vacation vibes. A lot of trees and plants were well taken care of. The pool, which was connecting all the rooms, is amazing to swim in. The beach was clean and there is enough space for all guests. The food and drinks in the restaurant are quite overpriced for what you get. For example, a coconut was more than 200 baht. The breakfast buffet has a good selection of Western food like bread, sausage, cereals. They are also offering Boat noodles. Unfortunately not in the traditional taste but rather in a very mild taste compared to what you get at local places. Unfortunately, the breakfast selection doesn't change throughout the days, so you might get boring of the selection if you stay too long. The staff is extremely friendly and supportive, having always a smile on the face.”

“We had the most amazing 4 nights at Rocky's in Dec 2023. This boutique hotel is stunning, set in a great location, offers regular shuttles to popular areas and most importantly, the staff are AMAZING. The General Manager (i forgot her name) and Kaew in the restaurant were particularly brilliant and sourced me some coffee beans because I liked the coffee in the restaurant so much. The food in the restaurant was also great and catered for vegetarian food (even if it was off menu or at breakfast). I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Rocky's team!”

“Just finished a wonderful four night stay at this superb hotel! Our first time visiting Koh Samui and I am so happy we chose to stay at the Kimpton. The facade of the hotel is gorgeous, dark wood with the most beautiful landscaped garden i have seen in a hotel! The room was very big and clean with a huge balcony with a very comfy sofa. I love how the pool looks like it flows into the ocean, and the pool area is incredible with pool table, table tennis and lots of lounge chairs. Shout out to Naomi who was very helpful and friendly when we checked in and throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious, only suggestion would be to include Vegemite for the Australian’s with the different spreads for toast as I asked but they didn’t have. Also free bottled water by the pool would be great. Every night for turndown service they gave us a note and different treats which was a very sweet touch. We ate at Fish House a few times and enjoyed it however one night we had dinner there and it took 45 minutes for our drinks (two cocktails) to arrive, 1 hr for entree and then another 45 min wait for our mains. The food was worth the wait but if i was starving I would not be happy waiting that long. Overall fantastic stay, we will definitely be back!! Thank you Kimpton Kitalay!”

“Away from the crowd, quiet and with super friendly staff. It seems that the all the comments left by other guests are really taken into account and any inconveniences are improved. The only disadvantage is that it’s away from a regular shop, if you need one, but there are several restaurants around so you can live without ever moving out of Tanote Bay. Beach and underwater views are magnificent and the beach is listed as one of five snorkeling points around the island. We stayed in small bungalow and it could have more space for keeping items (bigger table, chair, etc., but except for that everything was fine. Shared bathroom (applies to small bungalows) is shared only with adjacent bungalow and this is not really an issue.”

“I really liked my stay here. It is true that there is a distance to travel to get to Lamai or Cheweng. However, there is bike and car hire on Koh Samui. My room was big and spacious. Cleaned very well each day. I had a kitchen living area, bedroom and bathroom. The staff were helpful and friendly at the reception and in the dining area. There were great views of the pools and the sea. Which were kept clean and tidy. The breakfast was enough with a choice of eggs and bacon, fruits, cereals, breads coffee and juice. You are able to order from the restaurant until 9.00pm in the evening. I would certainly go here again.”
