“After seeing their work online, I sent them 19 rolls of film in 2019. After receiving the scans I was so disappointed that I just burried them in my hard-drive. Scans are completely lifeless and cold toned, nothing like the work they present online and nothing like the film I used (Portra). Each year I get back to these photos as I would love to include them in exhibition but then I just got frustrated (like today) to see that I lost 300EUR for nothing. They even asked for "scan moodboard" to try and match the colors (which is a bad idea to start with - just scan it neutral). My moodboard was regular Portra shoots (warm) and what I got are blue highlights and shadows. There should be an option for a second scan if we're not satisfied.”
