Wheal Coates
4.9
( 8 reviews ) $$

St Agnes, Saint Agnes TR5 0NT, United Kingdom

“Absolutely lovely coastal walks. We walked to Porthtowan. Walk past Chapel Porth but make sure you stop off at the lovely beach areas along the way. Check out the old ruins of the engine rooms from the tin mining days. We parked at National Trust Wheal Coates which is free for NT members. Think it's £8 all day for non members but it's cheaper for less time. There is a car park at Chapel Porth too which has a cafe, toilets and direct access to a lovely beach. Definitely worth a visit and a walk to see the stunning turquoise waters. 😍”

“After a week of switching gyms three times, (check my PureGym reviews 🙄), it’s safe to say I found my space. I won’t go into much detail, because I like being one of the only ones here at 5am, but if working out is more than just that for you, take the plunge and sign up. I promise the contract is not as scary as it looks. Just tell Maeri that Karen sent you 😂”

West Park Leisure Centre

Wilsthorpe Rd, Long Eaton, Nottingham NG10 4AA, United Kingdom

“Money grabbers. Hidden fees when you sign up and hidden fees throughout the contract. I have been charged £49 due to a technical error on their behalf. I have never missed a payment for anything in my life. I’m also unable to cancel my contract even though I have moved away and now unable to get to the gym. Feel like I have been treated very unfairly. The toilets and showers are disgusting, never been cleaned throughout my time at West Park and the same goes for the sauna and steam room, covered in hairs and dirt. The gym equipment is dusty and full of grime. Please avoid, there are many other much better and well maintained gyms at a better price around the area. My experience at West Park has been extremely poor, would never recommend to anyone.”

Combe Down Tunnel ( Southern Portal )

Open until 11:00 PM

Two Tunnels, Combe Down, Bath BA2 5JR, United Kingdom

“A really interesting place to walk or ride. I walked both the tunnels this one beeing the longest out of the 2. A popular place to visit lots of walkers and cyclists using the tunnels. There is interesting parts to look out for like the exhaust line from the steam engines along the full distance of the tunnel there is random bits of rail stuck up at the side of the tunnel Im not sure but I guess they are mile markers there is also refuge points all the way along wear track workers would have stood to allow trains to pass by Also this tunnel was make threw natral stone wich you can see in alot if places along the tunnel wear as the rest is brick lined. Definitely a place to visit it's good for exploring or for exercise walking or running and cyclists. It could be improved by better brighter lighting especially for alot of us who go there to enjoy the tunnels. Also this tunnel approximately halfway through hassome disc things that light up and play instrumentalsounds wich all together makes music. The bad experience I had was some cyclists well actually most didn't have any lights and it's not very bright some places are even darker so you risk getting hit by one and some was going really fast clearly with no care about anyone else using the tunnels so if your going for a walk to enjoy the tunnels please keep a eye out for cyclists. Other than that it's a really enjoyable place it would have 5 stars if it had better lighting wear you could see the tunnel better.”

“Liked: Baby animals were nice experience for kids and woodland walk, kids also enjoyed playing in the sand pit until they were told to leave because they can’t be watched by older siblings. Disliked: Lots actually! This is very basic camp site on working farm. Animals running free so lots of poops everywhere! Make sure to bring wellies! Very small camp site. I personally think it was overbooked when we stayed. Main camp site full so we had to drive along the woodland site, this again was full with limited spaces, we had to pitch on side of the road, to be told the next day we can’t have our car there as it’s ‘peaceful’ location. This was right at the back of the camp, we were last tent. You will receive welcome’ message with unclear directions of where you can and can park and when booking is made you are advised one car per tenet is allowed, but this does not apply to field right at the back called woodlands. Just keep that in mind when you plan to arrive late as main field gets full as it is not that big at all. There is no one to greet you so don’t even worry to check in, no one at the gate to give map or directions. Stayed there Friday to Sunday, Saturday evening we were approached by ‘lady’; no introduction or anything, we were basically told that rules are that cars can’t be parked next to tent and we need to move. She didn’t hear anything not even that we already had a drink and shouldn’t drive. She was rude to us and kids. My daughter wanted to get water and was told by staff that my business is more important than yours and you have to wait even though she was the first one at the tap. I have only seen two taps on entire field with drinking water, you have to walk around big animal enclosure to get to it so be prepared! All in all, I would not recommend staying there. One last thing, no washing up point and showers and toilets are port cabins with no light, at both camp fields only two toilets and one shower! Never cleaned during our stay. Bins at sand pit overflowing, never emptied. Ground very uneven, hard to find flat space. Also, not so peaceful, planes starting and landing at Stanstead Airport will keep you awake.”

Puregym Peterborough Brotherhood Retail Park
4.1
( 8 reviews )

Brotherhood Retail Park, Lincoln Rd, Peterborough PE4 6ZR, United Kingdom

“I am very disappointed. I have been going to the PureGym Brotherhood gym since June and I have the Plus pass. Definitely, today was my last training at this gym. I have a very bad experience with one of the member of staff (woman with red hair) who makes it difficult to start 2 series of exercises in the green zone, because she starts private barbell training there despite the zeros, this zone is not intended for that at all, and when we politely ask if she can do your own private training with a client, she refused this and was arrogant as she is doing training with the client and do not care, even though she saw that we were in the middle of a series. If this is how you treat customers who have purchased the most expensive package, I definitely recommend changing the gym. Such an approach to a client, where it actually makes training difficult for him, is unacceptable to me, and such people should not work in a place like a gym if they don't like people and have no respect for other people training at the gym. When I go to training, I would expect the people working there to be involved, smile and help when necessary, not to make training impossible or to discourage me.”

Chiltern Hills

Princes Risborough HP27 0RP, UK

“The Chess Valley Walk is a moderate difficulty hike in the Chiltern Hills that follows the River Chess for a significant portion of its route. The hike is 11 miles long with an elevation gain of 1,427 feet. It starts in the village of Rickmansworth and ends in the village of Chesham. The hike begins with a gentle ascent out of Rickmansworth. The trail then follows the River Chess through a series of meadows and woodlands. The river is a beautiful and serene presence throughout the hike. There are several opportunities to stop and enjoy the views of the river, including at the village of Chessington and at the ruins of Berkhamsted Castle.”
